My Uniquely Lousy Day
Today, Saturday August 15th 2009, was a particularly lousy day for me. I overslept, and then I woke up feeling like I didn’t get all the sleep out of me. Normally on Saturdays I go errand running and grocery shopping with my roommate. Today I had to stay home because I had an appointment with the Comcast customer service representative to call me at 1pm, about downgrading the service and reducing the bill. Well she never called me, so around 1:30pm I called Comcast and got a very nasty older lady who said I was stuck with my bill and if I made any changes or downgraded service it would go higher not lower. So I hung up with her and waited about an hour or so and called Comcast back. This time I got a nice young gentleman who told me he would downgrade the service for me and save me about $20-$30 on my monthly bill. I requested he do so and was at least grateful for that. I also received an email from a co-worker who I thought was my friend but is turning out not to be a friend after all. He was rather short with me in the email, which I had emailed him previously and asked several work related questions. He emailed me back and did not even attempt to answer one of my questions. What he doesn’t know is that I know that he wrote very nasty comments about me on his daily blog. Then I had a meal of hot dogs and baked beans. The hot dogs were flavor less. I worried about all my problems for the rest of the day, which consist of serious ceiling and roof repairs our landlord is taking their good old time doing, a second follow-up surgery I need that my doctor is hedging about performing on me, my crappy seasonal job where the bookkeeper calls and wakes me up early in the morning because I missed one class, and is nasty with me, so now I worry that she will mess with my unemployment comp.
