Today was a very unique day. It started of normal, a day like any other day. I woke up next to my wonderful boyfriend. I gave him a big smooch and then headed off to the shower. After I showered and got dressed, we headed to work. While there we learned there was a shooting and a young boy from our neighborhood was shot and killed. It was very disturbing to find out he died alone so young. Needless to say we had very little business and the place was like a graveyard all day. Me and my boyfriend then decided to make plans for tomorrow and enjoy a nice activity.

Got my movie fix last night & rented a movie…

A nineteen year old boy becomes one of the most daring and outrageous con man in the U.S history, this was the story of the movie ‘catch me if you can’, which was based on a true story. I watched it last night and it was great movie. How could it not be when the star cast boasts of actors like Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christopher Walken. The movie showed the early life of Frank William Abagnale, who had cashed 4 million dollars in fraudulent checks before he was 19. The movie was fast paced, with some exciting chase sequences between Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. It was hard to believe that the story of the movie could be real, a teenage boy traveling half the world, making millions and meeting gorgeous women. Steven Speilberg’s direction was spot on. Every scene was crafty. All in all an awesome movie.

I just finished my summer semester of school last Thursday and I start my fall semester next Monday, so I’ve been trying to take it easy but I’ve had a lot of chores and things to catch up on this past week. So I decided today was pretty much just going to be dedicated to relaxing. Didn’t entirely work out that way. Grades were released today so the first thing I did when I got up was check them online and I ended up with straight A’s for the summer. Yay! But then I walked to the kitchen to get some breakfast and my cat had thrown up on the carpet. Boo! I eventually ended up going to the library to pick up a book to read. It was kind of ugly out and I was afraid I’d get caught in the rain, but lucky enough it wasn’t raining when I left or when I got to the library so I didn’t get wet. But then I hit traffic leaving the library and some guy blocked the intersection when the light changed and I had a “driver rage” moment because of it. But then I got home and decided to read my book and I got through most of it, but unfortunately it’s only mediocre. I guess it was still relaxing to just read, but I wish I could have enjoyed it more. Finally, I’ve tried to do some Turking today but it’s been slow, so I’ve made very little cash. Sigh. So there have been good points and bad points to the day, but I hope it won’t prove to be the highlight of my vacation.

As a kid, you dream of being something, being something big, something to the point that when you walk down the streets people stop and shout out your name.  Something that can get you fame and fortune.  Something that will make you popular.  The only problem is, very few of us actually make it to that point.  I always loved the game of basketball growing up.  I would go out in the yard and shoot hoops with my brother, my neighbors, and my friends.  This didn’t compare to the day when I was eight though, when I watched my first collegiate basketball game.  I lived not too far from the campus, so I drove by the basketball arena multiple of times, but I had never been in.  I just wanted to see what was inside daily.  I finally talked my father into taking my brother and me to the game.  I walked in and had never seen anything so beautiful.  From the exhilarating row by row seating stacked clear to the ceiling to the exasperating smells lurking from the concession stands, I was pumped to enter the arena.  Although my hometown team had lost, I enjoyed every second off that game clock and every sight in the arena with my father that day as an eight year old.

Today has been dreadfully boring, as are most of my weekends.  I slept until about 3:30 this afternoon, but I wish I would have slept longer.  Shortly after waking up, I made hot dogs and pork ‘n beans for supper.  It really wasn’t that good, but I didn’t feel like fixing anything more elaborate.  After supper, I played some video game hockey for a while then went retro and played some Sims 2.  At about 11, I warmed up some canned spaghetti and had a bowl of potato chips.  I ate this while half-watching some documentary on MTV.  In a little while, I’m going to cap of my day by watching Gran Torino, but I already know how it ends because one of my friends couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
