The Story of a Typical Sunday

May 31st, 2010 Comments off

Today was Sunday; we just had one last week but here it was again.  I would have liked to sleep in but I missed a workout earlier in the week and needed this morning to keep up with my routine.  I’ll be honest, the discipline of the workout schedule is nice but I awoke already thinking about a nap!  After an hour of kenpo karate I was ready to hit the shower and get ready for church.  At church we’ve been studying through the New Testament book of Romans and we found ourselves in chapter 9 this particular morning.  After the service it’s not unusual for me to grab lunch with friends but today I just decided to eat leftovers at home.  The reheated Mexican food was pretty tasty but I was already looking forward to crawling back in bed.  After a much needed nap I surfed the internet for a while and then decided to watch a movie.  All in all, it was a pretty relaxing and typical Sunday.

Another Boring day in the Lindblad house

May 28th, 2010 Comments off

Today hasn’t been too much fun. I went to the store to pick up food and go to the bank. The second part was funny due to the fact that it is Sunday and they are closed, but today feels like a Monday. I got home and my girlfriend was in the office doing paperwork when I asked her to help put away the food. She decided to help by eating the food in the bag instead of putting it away. Then, around 11:30 she had to go to work and I started to watch my son Rylan play. It was raining like heck today and was pretty cool to see the lightning. That’s about it.

MY College basketball

May 26th, 2010 Comments off

My college life is going playing basketball. I tell our basket ball game in my college, which is really spirit game and also maintain our health. Now that we’re up to speed on the changes, time to refresh ourselves on the old ones. Sure, we know our twos from threes, a blocked shot from a personal foul, but how well do we really know the NBA rules?

Our game Rules:

- Games are 48 minutes long.

- Players are allowed six personal fouls.

- Every time you scored, the other team is given possession of the ball.

- Zone defenses are allowed

- The number of timeouts teams is allowed in overtime increased from two to three regardless of the number of timeouts called or remaining during the regulation play or previous overtimes.

“Got a job today”

May 19th, 2010 Comments off

The past few days, I was looking for a new job.  Yesterday, I saw an ad in the paper, and went in for an interview.  This morning, I got the call that I have the job.  I went in a few hours ago to see my office and get set up. I was told that I start tomorrow, and I am very excited to begin.  Today, I also found out that my cousin Marge is coming to visit from Seattle.  She is a great woman–very smart and kind.  However, she also tends to be a little annoying.  Last time she came she stayed for two weeks.  Today she told me she would only be here for a few days…but I can never be sure.  On the other hand, I really do enjoy her company, and we should have a fun time.

Day After Day

May 17th, 2010 Comments off

After eating breakfast or after returning home after the grocery store I will usually do some laundry or clean up the kitchen or make up the kids beds.  Sometimes I just go back home and watch recorded shows that I haven’t watched yet.  My 13 yr. old gets out of school at 2:16, so I leave the house at 1:45 to go find a parking spot at the school.  After picking her up we would come back home and I usually get on the computer for a while because at 3:00 I have to leave again to go pick up my younger 2 kids from school.  They get out at 3:26.  After I pick up the last 2 kids, we come home and then we do homework.  I hate homework.  For my youngest daughter, it only takes her about 20 mins to complete.  But for my son, this could take anywhere from an hour to sometimes 3 hours for him to do his homework which drives me nuts because he simply does not want to do his homework.  But I make him sit there and get it done.  At 5 or 5:30 pm I start making dinner.  Then my husband usually comes home from work around 6pm or so.  After we eat dinner, I head on upstairs to my bedroom to watch some TV or play on the computer while my husband stays downstairs with the kids.  The kids are in bed by 9:30pm. Then at 6:30 the next morning, the whole routine starts all over again. That is my daily routine with 3 kids, everyday.

My Daily Routine 5 Days A Week

May 13th, 2010 Comments off

I am a stay-at-home mom with 3 kids ages 13, 9 and 7.  Usually my day starts at 6:30 a.m. so that I can get my 13 yr. old daughter up and ready for school.  She attends middle school and class for her starts at 8am.  So I make sure she’s up, dressed and fed then I take her to school.  After taking her to school, I come back home and get my other 2 children up.  They both attend the same elementary school and their class starts at 9:05.  I make sure they are up, washed up and dressed and then feed them some breakfast.  They usually have a little extra time in the morning so as long as they are ready for school I will let them play video games, or play the computer or watch TV before heading off to school.  I leave the house at 8:45 to get them to school and make sure they are on time.  After dropping them off at school, I will either go back home and make me some breakfast or if I need to run to the grocery store or any other store this would be the time to do it.

Christmas Day – Time with the Family

May 5th, 2010 Comments off

Why Christmas Day? Why not Family Day? On Christmas of 2008, my cousin Hannah and her husband Charlie came over with their children. The first thing we did was not exchange presents (we had done that already), we played Wii. Joshua, the older of the two boys, hurried to my Wii and turned it on exuberantly. He had wanted to play Mario Kart ever since the last time I saw him. Not wanting him to be disappointed, I agreed to play with him. After one hour flew by hot pot was served; all of us sat down to pray. It wasn’t before long when we began sinking raw food into the boiling soup. Bowl after bowl, I ate like a person who had been fasting for weeks! After Joshua and I were close to feeling bloated, I insisted that we continue to play Wii he could wait no longer. Unfortunately, only having played a few more minutes, they had to leave since it was late. I still enjoyed my Christmas at home with the family even though I didn’t go to somewhere extravagant.

A Day with the Cats

May 2nd, 2010 Comments off

I live in a house full of rescued feral cats. The first thing I do and the last thing I do each day are tend to their needs! I usually spend my morning on errands and writing on the Internet. Lunchtime involves another cleanup time and then, I have my 30 minute nap. More work on the Internet follows. I spend an hour each evening working outside (I’m starting a garden) and then it’s back to work till 10 or 11.

Somewhere in between, I read, spend time bonding with the cats, and work on projects. Occasionally, I actually do things with other human beings!
