I would like to share about my favorite basketball game ever in my life. In my school days I used to participate in Inter school tournaments and I can’t forget the best moments when I played opposite with Bishop Cotton School, I studied in Brindavan Public School and I am a good team player and the game we played was best and won the tournament at the neck of the moment. We had a good coach and he led us to play the best game and encouraged us in well manner. Now thinking of the past moments it’s really memorable. This is one of my favorite basket ball game ever.

I had recently reconnected with an old friend from junior high that I hadn’t seen in twenty years. We met in Norman and attended the OU Sooners vs. Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball game together. The Sooners lost that night (partially because Blake Griffin was injured and benched) but it was great to see my dear old friend again.

Running Towards a Downfall and Getting Up

Recently I have been training for a half marathon, and my local health club has a running group that meets weekly for runs.  The guy in charge of the running group has run over 25 marathons, completed several iron mans; basically, he is much more in shape than I ever plan to be.  I am a competitive person, even if I’ve never been a competitive runner, so I always try to keep up with the other people in my running group.  I couldn’t make it to the group run last week since I had to work late, but on Sunday I was working at the health club and the leader of the running group asked if I wanted to go running after work.  We went running on a six mile loop, and of course my main focus was to keep up and appear to not be working half as hard as I actually was.  When we were three miles out, the farthest possible way out from the starting point.  I tripped over my own feet, landing on my face and scratching up my hands.  While I was worried about my ankle, I was more worried by the fact that I made a huge fool out of myself in front of this amazing runner.  However, I think falling was the best thing that could have happened to me that day.  I fell, so what?  I also learned that every runner has stories about falling, getting lost, being trapped in a rainstorm.  That’s what makes a person a real runner, all the stories they can tell about not running.  After all, if I hadn’t fallen, it today would have been just another run, not a funny story that I could tell.

Best Match Ever Bulls VS. Lakers (1997)

April 18th, 2010 Comments off

I always remember this classic games, Chicago Bulls was at their best with Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman and LA Lakers had young Kobe Bryant and Shaq. Both teams really fight hard for a win and gave the fans one of the best basketball games in the world. Chicago Bulls came out the winner in the classic battle by a fairy close score of bulls scoring 129 and Lakers 123. This was the game that made players like Kobe and Shaq become household names and this was the best year for Michael Jordan. This game was a classic that will be remembered for a long time and played back by many to truly see what a good game of basketball looks like.

The joys of home maintenance

New living room #1

Today I am working on painting the ceiling on the first floor of my home.  My initial intention was to paint the living room only.  However, after careful consideration it occurred to me that the ceiling is connected throughout the entire first floor of the house with no points of delineation (to stop at).  So, in undertaking a complete repainting of the living room in my home, I must also repaint all areas connected to the living room (i.e. the kitchen, hallways, upstairs hallway and downstairs hallway.

The amount of work I was planning on doing today has, effectively, tripled and I am only working on the ceiling at the moment.  Interior painting is a beast that often takes on a mind of its own.

A Relaxed Sunday At Home

April 13th, 2010 Comments off

Today is Sunday and I got up a little later than usual, but not too late. I was up at 5.30 AM. I do not like to sleep late specially on Sundays as I believe that a Sunday is a special day and should not be wasted sleeping. I did an hour and half of yoga and other exercises after getting up. Then I spend an hour reading the newspaper along with my morning cup of tea. This is the best thing I like about a Sunday. I then had a bath and did my morning prayers.

Later I took my mother to the doctor for a checkup as she was recovering from viral fever. In the afternoon I wrote two articles, made one animation on my computer, had a snooze for half an hour and then went for a long walk.

My favorite basketball game of all time was the Syracuse Orange vs. University of Connecticut Huskies. It was amazing, memorable, and even historical. Just prior to this game I’d never been much into basketball but after watching Arinze Onuaku hitting two free throws in a row, I was hooked. Now I’m a basketball junkie. I play all the time, I have jerseys, hats, posters, etc. This game changed me from a skate rat to a basketball star at McDowell High School. That game was undeniably the most wonderful scene I’d ever watched. It had everything a basketball game could hope for.

Day at the Beach with Children

April 5th, 2010 Comments off

Today I went to the beach with a friend’s two small children. While I enjoyed the opportunity to relax in the water, the constant whining and screaming made me think about the possibility of having kids in the future.  Would I allow my children to behave like this and think it was cute?  I hope not. However, I have no reason to think I would be a better parent than my friend. She is more patient and responsible I am.  I want to have children someday, but I am not sure that I am willing to give up my leisure time and freedom. Next time I go to the beach, I am going alone or with my boyfriend.
