Magic Johnson’s First Pro Game

He is so Awesome!! In the Vip @ the Velvet Room

My favorite basketball game ever was the first professional game that Earvin Magic Johnson ever played in. Magic was the #1 pick of the Los Angeles Lakers in 1979 and he debuted against the then San Diego Clippers. The game was very tight the whole way through, but I was witnessing the beginnings of a Hall of Fame career with what I saw from young Magic. He was throwing some incredible passes and the Lakers looked better than they had in quite some time. With the game drawing to a close, and the Clippers holding on to a one point lead, Magic passed the ball into Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who hit a 15-foot hook shot in the lane to give the Lakers their first victory in what would be a championship season. Magic was so excited that he threw himself into the arms of Kareem. As a fan watching at home, I was as excited as the players on the court were. I can honestly say that I have not seen a game that has thrilled me more than that one.

How My Sunday is Going

I am not feeling well today.  I believe the retina is in the process of detaching from my left eye, and I am reviewing my options, if there are any.  I am also feeling low because I am having problems meeting my rent.  I am a waitress in South Florida, and as we are out of season, it is very slow right now, and I am $ 80.00 behind.  I have no more options for this, as nobody is hiring down here right now.  So I have health concerns and am worried about money today, so my day is not going well. I am taking it easy today.

NYC: NBA Store

Just play with him. My favorite is the basketball game “NBA professional basketball in 2005.” 2005 is the only NBA official authorized by the U.S. mobile gaming! As the authority of products, the game has a superior high-quality images and complete game of the NBA … the system and the players are rich and colorful action. Imagine there are in all the classics, and dunk moves are included, the game adds to the super special skills so that more exciting game.

My Busy Day in Indiana

KUNMING, CHINA - DECEMBER 12: A senior citize...

My day starts with getting up at 4 am to get ready for work. I let my dog out and feed both her and the cat. Then I am off to get dressed for work. Leaving the house at 4:30 am and getting to work by 5 am. From there I am busy doing laundry for residents in a nursing home for 120 residents. I leave work at 1pm and get home and again let the dog outside. Usually I am so tired by that time I sit in the recliner for a bit to rest and maybe catch a quick nap. Nap over, and dinner waiting to be made I go to the kitchen and start dinner. After dinner my husband and I sit outside on the patio and enjoy the evening air before coming inside to catch and hour or so of TV before heading to bed around 9pm.

An Amazingly Bad Day!

AA meeting sign

I woke up today in jail. I received a DUI last night! I had to lie to get someone to come pick me up. It was awful because that person was my mother. I had to then tell her the truth of why I was arrested. She was not happy. Then, when I got home, I found that the cat had knocked my glass centerpiece off of the kitchen table and shattered it. So, I had to clean that up. Next, my girlfriend calls. She knows I have a drinking problem so I lied to her as well. Obviously, she will know the truth soon. Now, I am looking for local AA meetings. This is going to be a problem because I no longer am able to drive to the meetings nor are any close enough to walk or ride a bike too. So, I am pretty much having an amazingly bad day!

Starting the day off right

March 7th, 2010 admin No comments

Woke up to the kicking of little feet on my shoulder. Great way to wake up I must say. This after a night of three young children awake when their heads should have been on pillows dreaming up whatever youngsters dream these days. My two oldest had woke up in the middle of the night and started to kick and yell at each other. I groggily went upstairs and did the referee thing. I ended up taking the four-year-old across the hall where he screamed for mom for about a half hour before he eventually fell asleep. Mom, of course, was downstairs in our bed with the two-year-old who has quite grasped the concept of sleeping with his brothers for the entire night. Who can blame him after the night’s activities? Anyway, he’s kicking my shoulder. There’s the alarm clock. No rest for the weary. I have to be hopeful that today will be better than the last five hours…

The Morning of Excitements

March 4th, 2010 admin No comments

So far it was a typical type of early morning. The air was brisk, but not cools, as my significant other and I enjoyed the pre dawn air and stars accented by a waning cresset moon over the eastern horizon. The stars are more visible away from the city lights and this of recent days has come to be noticed more often.

The furry felines that share our humble abode were busy with their morning breakfast of beef laced cat food and quite content to leave alone the bugs that gather around the porch light throughout the night. The darkened peaceful start to another day will soon give way to the sun as it will reach above the horizon. The day however presents the strange lack of the rooster chanting across the vastness as his persistence was no longer needed as much as his contribution to the supper table.

Pitching a basketball at San Jose State

The World's most amazing Basketball Shot

This was the late sixties, when Spartan basketball was played in the men’s gym rather than the Civic Center Auditorium. The days when Crazy George was a student and a cheerleader there, with a drum head and enthusiasm. Half time was just a few seconds away, and the opponent had the ball and was killing time before the buzzer. With a few seconds left, they took a long shot and missed. A Spartan grabbed the ball, took a quick look at the far end of the court and the one second that was left on the clock. He then threw the ball like a pitcher throws a baseball. The basketball had just left his hand when the buzzer went off. The crowd watched it arc the entire length of the court and drop through the basket without touching the rim. The crowd went wild, Crazy George was banging on his drum head, and the score was tied at the beginning of half time.
